Chapter Recruitment

To potential new members,

My name is Ellie Bassett, and I have the privilege of serving as Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Vice President of Membership this year. On behalf of our entire chapter, I want to express how truly excited we are to welcome each and every one of you into this next chapter of your life. As we prepare for Recruitment, our committee is working tirelessly to create an experience that allows you to feel seen, valued, and supported. These next few years will be filled with unforgettable memories, personal growth, and friendships that will last a lifetime—we hope you’ll find some of those special moments here with us in Kappa.

I know firsthand that the Recruitment process can be overwhelming, filled with a whirlwind of emotions. There’s anticipation, excitement, and maybe even a little bit of nervousness—I’ve been there too. But above all, please remember that our goal is simply to get to know YOU, for exactly who you are. When I first stepped into Kappa as a freshman, I found a space where I could be completely authentic, a place where I was embraced wholeheartedly without reservation. The joy I felt on Bid Day, running home to Kappa, made every moment of Recruitment worth it. Looking back, I realize how lucky I am to have found friendships that have become my greatest sources of support, encouragement, and laughter. The bonds I’ve built within this chapter are ones I cherish deeply, and I truly wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Kappa has given me more than just friendships—it has given me a sense of belonging, a community of strong, kindhearted women who uplift and inspire one another every day. It has been a space where I’ve grown, been challenged, and learned what it means to be part of something greater than myself. My hope for you is that throughout this process, you’ll discover that same kind of support, that same sense of home, and that same feeling of unconditional acceptance that Kappa has given me.

As Vice President of Membership, my main goal is for every member of our chapter to radiate their love for Kappa and the incredible experiences it has provided us. Whether it’s through the unbreakable friendships that will last for decades, the countless memories we’ll treasure forever, or the unwavering support we give one another, Kappa is truly something special. It’s a place where love is both given and received in its purest form.

We cannot wait to meet you in August and share this amazing sisterhood with you. Know that no matter where you find your home, this process is about discovering the people who will lift you up and walk alongside you in this exciting new chapter of life. Trust yourself, be open-hearted, and embrace every moment of this experience.

Loyally,

Ellie Bassett | MC '22
